HEALTH IMPROVEMENT
We understand that our society can develop only when it is developed in terms of education, health and economic development. Following this principle, Viraj Profiles Pvt. Ltd has undertaken several initiatives for ensuring the better health of the people in the nearby villages. Such initiatives on the part of the company to improve the life and health of people in the community also go a long way in gathering acceptance from local communities and long term sustainability of the activities.
Regular Medical Camp:
January 2019: With a focus on the value of being a responsible corporate citizen, Viraj Profiles Pvt. Ltd, in association with Lions Club of Tarapur, organised a free medical camp at Baripada (Gundle) and one medical camp at Suthalpada village. The key objective of the camp was to support the development of the local community with a direct focus on health and the importance of maintaining hygienic conditions. The camp witnessed a good turnout of villagers across all age groups.
- Eye examinations resulted in 6 patients requiring cataract operations and 28 patients requiring spectacles.
- Overall the health status of patients was normal. There were 2 cases of Thyroid.
- Deworming tablets and multivitamin capsules were given to every villager who attended the camp.
- Over 125 villagers benefitted from the free checkup and medicines that were distributed on the day.
April 2019: On 22nd April, Viraj Charitable Trust, in association with TIMA Hospital, organized free health checkup camp at Zila Parishad School at Mann village in Palghar District of Maharashtra. During the health camp, we conducted eye tests, general diagnosis, body checkups etc. This time the camp also witnessed the visit of one of the leading gynaecologists of Mumbai, Dr Meera Aggarwal. Dr Aggarwal and her team of doctors met around 60 females and provided them free consultation and medicines. The eye testing was done for around 60 people across all genders and all age groups.
In total, we were able to meet around 280 people across all age groups. Demographically, most of these people came from Mann, Athlepada and Sutharpada village. Around 60% of the crowd was between the age group 30-45 years and 20% crowd was 50 years plus. Approximately 85% of the visitors were females. For the first time that a gynaecologist was visiting a free medical camp witnessed an excellent response from the ladies. We also distributed free medicines to all the visitors. In some cases, the doctors prescribed some more tests and our team is already organizing the same
Impact in numbers:
- We were able to provide consultation to around 280 people directly.
- Women amounted to around 85% of the total beneficiaries.
- Around 170 people got their eyes tested.
- Around 60 females met the gynaecologist for free consultation and medicines
- Around 50 people got their body checkups done
Ambulance Facility for the villagers:
An Ambulance has been in operation in association with the Lions’ club of Tarapur for subsidised access to Emergency Medical cases that need to be shifted to Mumbai for further treatment. This facility has proven to be a boon for the people of nearby villages who otherwise had to struggle for an ambulance in case of any medical emergency. Viraj Profiles Pvt. Ltd is soon planning to establish a world-class Medical Facility also at Tarapur.
