WASTE WATER POLICY
Policy Statement:
Viraj Profiles Private Limited is committed to the management of all type of Waste Water generated from its operations and Domestic Uses, in an environmentally friendly manner and in line with applicable waste water management rules.
Applicability:
This Policy shall apply to all establishments of Viraj Profiles Private Limited including its Joint Ventures and Subsidiaries, all ancillary partners having their establishments in company premises
Objectives:
The objectives of the Waste Water Management Policy are to:
- Optimization of Water Withdrawal and Consumption: While the Company’s operational sites rely on diverse water resources to meet their needs, it is aware of the importance of minimizing its impact on shared water sources. To achieve this, the Company continuously evaluates and optimizes its water withdrawal processes, aiming to implement efficient and sustainable water management practices. By actively adopting efficient water management practices.
- Water Recycling and Reuse: As part of the Company's commitment to sustainable practices, Viraj Profiles Private Limited has implemented robust wastewater recycling and reuse practices across its units. These initiatives aim to maximize water efficiency, minimize its reliance on freshwater sources, and reduce its water footprint.
- Wastewater Discharge: The wastewater generated at plants is treated and recycled for Process as well as Green Belt and Dust suppression activities. There is no discharge of wastewater outside the premises. Viraj Profiles Private Limited aims for effective minimization and conservation of its water footprint by adopting ‘Zero Liquid Discharge’ (ZLD) practices.
- Community Water Security Extending beyond Business Interests: The Company in collaboration with community representatives, local governments, other donors has taken up initiatives to invest in its efforts towards drinking water security, water for livelihood and water use efficiency. The Company has undertaken extensive awareness-building campaigns, educating communities on rainwater harvesting, water literacy, and the adoption of modern irrigation technologies.
- Water Conservation: Recognizing that water conservation is a collective responsibility, Viraj Profiles Private Limited aims to minimize its water requirement through Technological enhancement, Recycling of water back to process and engaging Stakeholders and communities to promote water conservation practices that align with its water management strategy.
